The first planting of squash is starting to bloom, although not all of it looks this great, we had some plants that didn't like those high winds last week! I think most of them will recover and hopefully we will be picking some squash in a few weeks. Hoping to see some blueberries in a few weeks as well, until then please keep eating strawberries! They are producing like crazy right now and boy are they good. All the hard work of building sprinklers to use when planting, putting hoops and string, and then covering and uncovering through the winter has really paid off! Hope yall are enjoying everything and be on the look out for new items popping up soon.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
