We are finally producing some beets! Took all winter and multiple failed plantings but persistance paid off. We may be feeling the end of the cool weather but it sure has been nice. I have been working in the fields and walking all plots to ensure we are doing everything possible for new crops to come in quickly and in great quality. Everything is looking good and we should start to see some summer varieties trickling in. We have just received some more eggplants and peppers that will go in the ground this week, which we have been staking and tying directly after with these strange high winds. Strawberries are still producing in great quantities so we have decide to start putting some up, that way you all will be able to enjoy frozen berries in the future. Hope everyone had a great Easter!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
