The heat continues, those 2-3 days of drier air and cooler nights sure were nice, but it looks like we may see some more broken records. We have still not had any rain at the farm, it is a dust bowl out there to say the least. Planting more this week either way, kale/chard/collards are supposed to show up so we will be getting them in the ground, I just hope they can with stand 100 plus temps. Thinking I may put the strawberry sprinklers I made on them so it cools them down, it would be a good bit of work but I think worth it to get our braising greens started! There are few things going away and a few things coming back this week so bare with me, I promise I am trying! :)

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
