Heirlooms are finally here and they are as beautiful and tasty as ever! I was worried about our tomato crop with all the rain we had been getting but our heirlooms held up very well, squash/zucchini on the other hand didn't fair so well, crazy how quick it goes from beautiful and abundant to almost dead and zero production. Good news is we have more coming behind it that looks great, and should be ready in a week or two. Okra is being okra, steady growing but slow to start heavy production, once it starts though, we will have to pick it everyday to keep the size we like. Stay cool and hydrated out there!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
