Farm Happenings for July 11, 2024

Posted on July 8th, 2024 by Grady Seale

Figs are here!! About the only thing that I can think of that starts to produce and thrive in this humid heat is figs, and they are looking great this year. We will be harvesting daily to ensure the birds and squirrels don't eat them all. We do have some more squash and cucumbers on the way, hopefully soon, and we should start to see some okra in the next few weeks. We will have a bit of a gap on the bigger tomatoes, but cherries are still rockin. I will start working on the Fall farm plan very soon, even though we are still a bit far from seeing any cooler weather, I have to get seeds ordered, schedule amounts of each variety, and ground ready months before we can plant. We got lucky with the first hurricane that made landfall, prayers for those in Texas for sure, we have all been in their situation.
