We finally get some cooler weather and of course, it comes with a price! We are closely watching the weather updates to see just what Cyclone 6 is going to do, as for now it is projected to come directly at the Texas Louisiana coast. With that being said we will just have to see what it brings and hope for the best. We are going to move forward like everything is normal and we will make any adjustments we need to and also keep yall informed. On a good note, all of the crops really enjoyed this cooler weather we had over the weekend, they look great for the time being, fingers crossed they can withstand whatever Mother Nature brings us, we will do as much as we can to keep everything happy and healthy though. About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
