Farm Happenings for September 5, 2024

Posted on September 2nd, 2024 by Grady Seale

Delicata squash is looking good and shouldn't be too much longer before we start harvesting some. I hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend despite the hot, rainy weather, we finally got a good rain at the farm. We will be working plots to get them back into direct seed planting shape, which means we need clean dirt with no weeds or grass in it to run the vacuum seeder. I am soooooo ready for some cooler weather, it really makes a huge difference for us once it cools off, all of our crops grow much better and the weeds actually slow down. August came and went quickly for me, even though it was a scorcher.  September is one of my favorite months because we usually have a mix of late summer and early fall products, just waiting on that cooler weather, not holding my breath however! :)
