Despite the warmer weather, we have brussels coming along nicely and I am thinking we may start harvesting some this week! Broccoli has started but it really hasn't exploded yet and the small quantity we did pick isn't the best looking to say the least. Good news is we have a bunch more of it coming and I am hopeful to have both brussels and broc in your boxes before Thanksgiving. It has been a weird Fall to say the least, with a morning commute to work at 74 degrees in November, and a tropical disturbance in the Gulf, possibly heading toward us. I am not very worried about that but some cooler weather would really benefit our crops. We did get some much needed rain last week, so we will be working the fields to get more in the ground, stay tuned!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
