It's been a very cold, wet week on the farm. There's something about coming home bone cold that exhausts me way more than being out in the heat. I can wear 4 or 5 layers, my core will stay warm, but my hands and feet feel like pieces of lead. Give me the heat any day!

There's a sort of tightening that happens in the winter. That's not the right word, but I'm at a loss for a better description. The earth closes up; puddles remain for longer after a rain and the rate of water loss has slowed significantly from the duck pond. Plants fall into a st1 read more »
About the farm
