We begin transplanting this week so the young crops get over the transplant shock in time to enjoy a full 10 hours + of daylight for photosynthesis.I plan to slowly expand the fresh menu by the third week in February. The downside of this is still slow growth and smaller harvests.
To compensate for this I will publish a separate menu for our Grand Ledge CSA Members next Wednesday, January, 27. The customization period will end Wednesday evening at 8:00 pm, and will put their decision making closer to the Saturday Delivery, and also give access to some of those smaller harvests!
I will report more on this in the future; I have been invited to join the Springport High School Agriscience Advisory Board, by the incoming Agriscience Teacher and the Plant/ Animal Biology teacher. Both are FFA advisors for the School, and I am humbled and excited to participate. For those of you who have been with me for awhile, you know how much I respect that program and the students!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot on Wednesday in Eaton Rapids at 12:00 noon, and the Tannin Italian Restaurant parking lot at 4:30 after that. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday in am at the parking lot behind the Flour Child Bakery, 11:00-12;00 noon. Please see the attached menu and let me know iif I can help. I hope to see you soon!
