As we enter the third trimester of summer, the Sweet Corn is almost ready, the summer fruits like Tomatoes, Peppers, Cucumbers and even Melons are working their way to harvest! Meanwhile, the second planting of Cherry Tomatoes, Cucumbers and the Autumn crop of Kale are growing in the nursery, waiting to be transplanted in the next week or two. New Spinach is also in the mix!
I want to cover the last two hoop houses in the next three weeks before our student helpers are back in school. They are strong and hard working kids, and I would like to get the new covers done before football and cross country practice starts in earnest!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 2:30-6:30. Thursday afternoon is farm pick up, and Saturday we are in Grand Ledge, for the Market on the Grand, 9:00-1:00. I hope to see you soon!
