We will be open and operating Labor Day weekend, although we will have restricted hours of operation. We will also be attending the weekend Farmers Markets, as I prepare the coming Fall/ Winter growing and distribution plans that will dovetail with the colder seasons.
The Summer Farmers Markets have been very kind to Hillcrest Farms, even to a fault. I was out Saturday evening trying to replace the Fresh Produce planned for Sunday in East Lansing, but already sold in Grand Ledge! Suddenly a strange odor wafted by me; wait, MELONS! Yes we'll have them this week at all markets. I took 3 inside for a taste test. Wow, Yum Yum, and the racoons didn't even alert me!
Housekeeping note: please return the waxed CSA weekly boxes, if you can.
We are allowed to reuse them as opposed to the landfill. Happy Labor Day in advance, I hope to see you soon!
