We take a very short break this Labor Day weekend to catch our breath, relax a little, and plan the next few weeks before the Autumn distribution begins to develop. We are not in the storage crop phase yet, but the Grand Ledge Farmers Market ends in four weeks, and some Fresh Produce Crops only have a few weeks left!
I am planting one more bed of Winter Carrots this week. Baby Lettuce, Spinach, Asian Salad Greens, and Midi Heads of Romaine are all in the weekly rotation now. In between, we will look for the remaining Melons, Cucumbers, as we harvest those delicious New Potatoes. October 10, marks the limits of my patience to unearth the Ginger, Turmeric, and Sweet Potatoes!
This week I am at the Family Fare parking lot in Eaton Rapids on Wednesday at 12:00 noon, and the Allen Street Farmers Market after that, 3:00-6:00. Thursday afternoon pick up at the farm is still available through September. Saturday we are at the Farmers Market in Grand Ledge on River Street, 9:00-1:00 PM. Scheduled home deliveries will arrive early Saturday afternoon, unless other arrangements are made. I hope to see you soon!
