With the dryness of the spring, many crops aren't producing quite as well as we had hoped. But there are some crops that are looking awesome, and peas are one of them!
We're excited to put both snap and snow peas on the list this week. If you don't eat them right out of the bag, adding them to a stir fry is a great way to use both snap and snow peas.
They're actually looking so good, and there are so many peas out there, that we are going to open them for u-pick for our CSA members!!! When you pick up your share, if you'd like to go pick a couple quarts of peas, you're welcome to do so. We can't possibly get to picking everything! There is no charge to pick - it's a benefit of being a CSA member. Please note the u-pick hours below. Bring a bag, box, plastic container, or other vessel to pick your peas into. We'll explain where to go when you get here. Remember to wear comfortable shoes and sun protection.
Hours for u-pick:
Saturday 8 am - 5 pm
Sunday 10 am - 5 pm
Mon 10 am - 5 pm
Tues 3 pm - 8 pm
We are still looking for part time work with mowing, weeding, and planting. If you know anyone who is interested, please drop us a line.
Speaking of which, the field is currently taking all of our attention - so I'm keeping this short and sweet this week so I can get back out there. Please let us know if you need anything, and remember to return your totes! :)
