Farmer Phil's TOP 5 from the field this week!

* Harvesting PLENTY right NOW!

1. Leeks - Raw leeks do especially well in salads.
2. Potatoes - Keep in the dark. A paper bag will do.
3. Fall Squash - Cut in half, remove seeds. Place the squash halves facing downward in a microwave-safe bowl with 2 tablespoons of water. Heat on high for 5 minutes. Flip over, add butter, microwave another 5 minutes.
4. Roasts & Steaks - From livestock raised in Riehm's own pastured field and grain finished. 
5. Pears - For faster ripening, place in a paper bag and leave on the counter. Check every 2 days. Refrigerate when they start to turn yellow.

Leeks are widely used in soups and stews, especially as a complement to potatoes and can be cooked whole as a vegetable.

There is even a “leek soup diet” that supposedly helps with weight loss!!!
