Our Fall tomatoes are looking good, even though they are growing a bit slower than normal with the heat, they will really take off once we get some cooler nights. You can see the dew dripping off of the plant in this picture, thankful for that as we have been missing the August rains this year. I never ask for a ton of rain because that causes problems, but a stray shower here and there really makes the crops flourish that is obviously seen over just irrigating them. I can't believe this is the last week of August, it flew by for me! We will start to see some Fall/Winter varieties soon, thank you for being patient with us as this is one of the hardest times to offer a variety of crops in the boxes.

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
