It wouldn't be 2020 if the goalposts didn't keep moving...
I had someone lined up to loan me enough to cover building out the minimum needed at the new space. I found out yesterday evening that his wife was in a serious accident.
1) I really hope she'll be ok
2) I need to find that money somewhere else now
So. Work has stopped until I can get more money lined up. I'm not asking my crew to work when I don't know how I'll pay them. I have a call tomorrow with a regenerative agriculture crowd loan site to see how quickly we can stand up a campaign. Look for more information to come in the next few days. I'm considering a loan with 6-8% interest and a 2-3 year repayment period, and I'll know tomorrow evening how quickly we can get it up and accepting funds.
I'm also looking for someone who's in a position to put up $5-10,000 now, to be repaid either from the crowdfunded loan or during strawberry season, at your preference. This money will cover labor and essential supplies for the next 2-3 weeks so that we can get back to work spreading our cardboard base layer, bringing in organic matter and shaping our rows. Strawberries need to start going in the ground by mid November. If you or someone you know is able to step in with immediate financial help, please reach out.
The goal posts have moved. I'll still get to them.
