I don't mention it often here, but I manage the Dunwoody Farmers Market on Saturdays. I'm mentioning it now, because the market this Saturday has the potential to reach a milestone I didn't think would happen this soon - we're on track to have 50 booths! It's an artisan market, which is something I created during the pandemic to help the artists who didn't have their normal festivals to sell at. The weekly market is food focused, so we invite artisans in quarterly. This Saturday we're supposed to have 30 food vendors, 18 artisans, a local yoga studio offering a free class at 10, a local business sponsoring our music and a local nonprofit pet therapy outfit bringing their dogs for some loving.
When I took this market on at the start of the pandemic, it was 15-20 vendors and maybe 300 people coming through in a good week. When I take a step back and look at it, I'm really floored at how far it's come.
If you happen to be in Dunwoody this Saturday between 9 and 1, come by Brook Run park and say hi!
In other news, our greenhouse plastic is up - which means microgreens should be returning to the shares next week!
