Our pea crop this year looks better than any we've grown in the past, thanks to a much thicker seeding rate and a healthy dose of mushroom compost. The flowers are just beginning to fruit, so we'll be picking (a small amount of, to start) peas before the end of next week. You'll see these in your share the week after this.
As for this week, there's a few new items on the list that we're excited about...
KOHLRABI -- We grow the green and purple types; two colors, the same flavor. Cut off the outer skin and slice up the crunchy middle. It is delicious raw or cooked! Kohlrabi new to you? Check out a few recipes for kohlrabi below!
STRAWBERRIES -- from our friends at Orchard Valley Farm in Dover! These are grown using IPM (integrated pest management) methods.
ROMAINE LETTUCE -- Time to get out your favorite Caesar dressing. This romaine is perfect for a classic Caesar salad...
