The May Long Weekend?? I don't know if it's ever been this cold at the end of May!
We had loads of plants outside hardening off and ready for planting. But we decided it was not worth the risk and so we hauled them all back into the greenhouse again. The greenhouse has so many plants in it right now!!! Can't wait for the warm weather to return and then we will be going hard at it to get them all planted.
Things have been pretty regular around here this week. The kids have been super helpful with the farm chores...Leah and Nathan are my new chicken crew and they are doing a fantastic job of it. Leah started out quite scared of the chickens (only because she has received a few nasty pecks from them in the past). But she is a trooper and is quite proud of feeding and caring for the hens this year. And we have arrived at the egg increase and that is super exciting for them. They love it to go and collect eggs every day and find more than the previous day. Hopefully before too long they will be in full lay and then we will have +- 300 eggs a day to wash!
