Week 10 -- post Summerfolk and it feels like autumn
After the generous rain of April, May and June, the weather turned rather dry here at the farm in mid July. The tomatoes are here!
We now have cherry & grapes, salads and slicers! The roma/paste will be another week or two.
There are also lots of cucumbers, summer squash and beans!

Week 8 -- A bit of rain and cooler!
Sweet relief!
After almost 3 weeks without rain, Sunday night brought a few gentle showers and the forecast calls for cooler temperatures this coming week! It was challenging last week to complete critical tasks in the scorching heat.

Week 6 -- Summer sunshine!
Less rain and more sunshine is making for far fewer slugs in the garden! Apologies for any that made it to your kitchens. Week 5 -- Harvest, Plant, Weed, repeat
Well, we right in the swing of July!
Our days our focused on harvesting, washing and packing your CSA shares. In between that, we are planting autumn crops (more cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, beets, leek, frisee + carrots, radicchio, fennel and more!) and weeding!

Week 4 -- Rainy days
Every season is a new adventure!
While the last few seasons were very dry, this year is a stark contrast to that. We've had plentiful rain! It's a bit of a readjustment, remembering how to grow with lots of water in spring and early summer. One challenge has been the slugs -- they are everywhere. A1 read more »
Week 3 -- Summer!
Frieda and I found this chrysalis in the greenhouse this morning. We are growing native plants, including swamp milkweed. A couple of weeks ago, we saw a monarch caterpillar on the milkweed plants.
