Fall on the Farm
Fall has arrived at the farm with chilly nights and fewer daylight hours. It’s been dry, so we’re irrigating the beets, lettuce, kale, tomatoes, and peppers. Farm dog Maggie is spending nights out by the gardens to keep hungry deer at bay.

Lots of Raspberries
The earlier rains this summer have brought an abundant fall crop of red raspberries, and we have plenty of them on the farm stand this week. And just to make sure they keep going, it looks like we’ll have some rain this week too.

Sweet Potatoes!
Ron has begun digging sweet potatoes, and found this beautiful clump on the first try. When separated, the sweet potatoes almost filled a half-bushel basket! They’re on the farm stand this week, along with lots of red raspberries, tomatoes, and kale.

Paste Tomatoes for Delicious Sauce
The sun’s been shining, and the tomatoes are responding with lots of fruit! This week on the farm stand we have several pecks of paste tomatoes: Roma, San Marzano, and Amish Paste. Their meaty flesh is great for making sauce to eat fresh or to can or freeze for winter.
