Week 2 is looking good.
Thank you everyone for your patience with the couple of snafus of Week 1. Thank you to our site hosts for offering such inviting and accessible locations. A reminder to everyone to take your food home in the plastic liner bag and to leave the waxed box at the site. If you ever find that you are missing an item, or the quality isn't what you'd hope, please email me directly. You can come by for a substitute later in the week at the farmstand and I'll credit your Harvie account for the item's value and your inconvenience. This feedback is very helpful to me- if errors are happening on the pack line and I don't know, I can't fix them. emily@welcometablefarm.com
In terms of food for the coming week, garlic has made the transition from "green garlic" to "fresh garlic." As you can see in the photo the cloves have started to differentiate. Andy recommends taking the time to clove out the heads and then just barely cook the diced garlic and add to a pasta fresco with your snow peas. The peas are great as a raw snack. They sweeten up even more when cooked. Eat the entire pod.
