Farm Happenings at Mad Radish Farm
Too much rain!
This past week was nerve-wracking and stressful for many in the northeast, farmers included. We battened down the hatches on Tuesday evening, getting everything secure and put away as best we could for the impending storm on Wednesday. The main thing that I was most worried about was the large amou1 read more »
First Signs of Fall
As hot as it has been, we're already seeing the first signs of fall. The days are getting just a bit shorter, and the breeze in the early hours is reminiscent of fall mornings. Winter squash are starting to come in from the field - we harvested baby butternuts, delicata and acorn squash last week.1 read more »
The Perfect Tomato
Here's a picture of the most beautiful, perfect red tomato we ever did see. I took this picture as a reminder that we only have these fruits for so long, and we must enjoy them before fall sets in.

Ideas for all of that Summer Squash...
Summer squash and zucchini are synonymous with summer for me, perhaps so much so as tomatoes. They're coming in strong and there's two more plantings to go, so you have just seen the beginning of these fruits! If you're wondering what to do with the abundance of squash, I've got a few ideas for you1 read more »
New land, new logo
As most of you know, this is our first year on this land in Dover. We're in the very beginning stages of understanding the soils here, the best way to layout our fields, what the microclimates are, and so much more. One of the first things that we did after closing on the farm was test the soils. I1 read more »
