It's been a busy week on the farm. The weather was nice for long enough for us to get lots of strawberries planted. We used up all the available space and will wait to place more beds to plant the rest.
We have also been doing lots of seeding. The little kids love helping fill the trays with soil...and with the vacuum seeder we are able to get lots of seeds done in fairly short order. I timed it (just for kicks) and found out that I could seed 3000 seeds in under 10 minutes. Right now the seacan if filled right up with seeded trays...for a total of 22,776 seeds!! As soon as they germinate they will go out to the greenhouse and a new batch will be seeded to take it's place.
I have also been busy with another project. We had an over order on cukes so I decided to make some relish. If you have been on board for a few years you might remember the relish from a few years back.. I don't do near as much canning as I used to...but it was a fun change of pace...and it sure tastes good!
Today I am again enjoying a cool rainy day and catching up on housework and baking and, of course, a never ending pile of laundry. Especially with the kids home from school this week (we get spring break a bit later than everyone else) and rain or snow a few times this week....there has been lots of muddy pants and floors. But that's all part of spring on the farm....
Wishing you all a wonderful week!
