Farm Happenings at Sungrounded Farm
The Sweet Box
As we come into fall, I'm reminded that September on the farm is maybe my favorite month. I love this time when summer and fall food intersects, not to mention I'm feeling energized by the potential of fewer work hours in the coming weeks (even if they haven't come yet). I take as much1 read more »
Summer meets fall
On the farm, plants have gotten huge, but we're also making our last big seeding and planting push these weeks to fill out the field for fall. Now as we're finally getting some cooler temperatures we get to enjoy that special time when we have both summer and fall crops. To me, it's a g1 read more »
Sharing the bounty...
In the traditional CSA structure, members buy into a farm early in the season to help cover production costs, and the farm then provides a weekly share of whatever the farm produces. In this original model, the customers took on some of the risk and understood that if the farm had a really go1 read more »

I'm not really sure, thankfully the days they do greenhouse work are my Market and Delivery days, so I've been mostly spared from the task. Hornworms are the early life stage of a Hawk1 read more »
The bounty continues
We've officially reached the busiest part of our season. This time of year, we're still sowing and planting lots of crops for fall, and we're also at peak harvest. This past week the crew pulled almost all of the garlic and brought it into cure, about 2500 heads! We also had a tra1 read more »
Meet our Crew
Hey all,
It's been a busy week on the farm, with the heat sapping a lot of our energy, and yet still having so much to get done. There's truly no stopping this time of year with constant harvest and irrigation, so I'm going to keep this email short and sweet. Thanks to the lovely Amanda1 read more »
