Today it was ever so hot out. But we stopped a few minutes early to enjoy a melon in the shade. And that juicy sweet fruit made me say, "I love August. If only for the melon." But then I fried up a pan of shishitos for lunch and I am again thankful for the bounty of our warm days. I hope you are too!
We are also planting for the cooler days ahead. In the beds where we harvested potatoes, we made a quick turn around and planted the lettuce, spinach, arugula, radish, and cilantro that will feed us this fall.
