Its high summer in the tomato patch, and the pepper path, and the sweet corn patch, and our neighbor's sweet corn patch. The corn last week in your box's was a bonus item, grown by the students in the Walla Walla Valley Academy high school biology/garden program. The variety is "Olathe". It's a bi-color corn treat and available again for the coming Tuesday's boxes.
On Labor Day, we invite all of you and your families and friends to come out to the farm to Labor with us. It will be our annual Potato Dig. Come between 8-12 and help us bring this weighty crop out of the field and into the root cellar. Take home a bag of spuds for your own cellar. Bring gloves and a water bottle. Long pants and closed toed shoes recommended. We hope to see you here!!!
For those of you picking up shares at the Patisserie, sorry for the variety of confusing factors this last week. The shop does now close at 7pm. Boxes will still be there for Wednesday morning pickup until 12. If you would prefer a change of locations to one with open hours this is a fairly easy switch in the Harvie platform.
Happy eating!!
Emily and the whole farm crew
