Week 8
Welcome August!
After a wet July, this first week of August is looking great -- sunny and warm! There are several crops that are really going to appreciate that, especially the tomatoes and cucumbers! The tomatoes are a bit late this year, after the late spring frost killed the crop and we were for1 read more »
Week 7 -- July
Can you remember when it was so dry in June? Seems like a LONG time ago now!
We got another 2.5 inches of rain this weekend. The pond is up to early spring levels. Fortunately, all the mulching that we have done in the garden is carrying us through this very wet July. The mulch prevents erosion dur1 read more »
Week 6 -- July
That's a view of the greenhouse...which is pretty full!

Lots of carrot beds will be1 read more »

While it came down heavily at times, we didn't have any puddles on Sunday morning, nor did I saw run off. Whew. The soil just absorbed it all! All that1 read more »
Week 2 -- We had some rain!
Yes! On Friday night we were lucky and had a lovely little shower that gave us about a half inch of rain. The smell of the earth was magical! And the plants in the garden just looked BETTER the next day! What a wonderful boost just ahead of the summer solstice on Monday. It's peak growing time and1 read more »

What happened to April?!
Somehow April flew past.
A lot of seeds were planted and both greenhouses are rather full at the moment. Once the rain passes this week, we'll be out planting and seeding in the field. The direct seeded crops on the to do list for this coming week include spinach, radish, arugula, turnip and rapin1 read more »
