Here is your next meal idea!
We hope you all are staying warm and cozy this winter season. Our favorite way to do this on the farm is to hunker down with some soup and fresh bread for dinner. This week expect a couple pounds of our sweet potatoes, perfect for a creamy soup. I have found that these soup recipes are pretty flexible. Typically I sautee onions, garlic, and spices, and after about five minutes I add the bulk of the veggies (sweet potatoes, carrots, squash, whatever!) and just barely cover it with broth. After the veggies have softened I use my immersion blender and it's ready! We play around with the flavors/ingredients all the time and it is always delicious.
Fresh bread and cookies!
The perfect way to round out your soup meal- Grab a fresh loaf under the "extras" section if you have a Tuesday or Wednesday delivery. Prevail Bakehouse makes the yummiest naturally fermented whole wheat bread. Their breads are PERFECT for dipping in soup. We are never disappointed, whether its the buttery pan au lait, the hardy sprouted whole wheat, the rustic country loaf, or the fluffy baguette, we are always wishing our loaf never ends! Don't forget to add a half dozen or whole dozen of their perfect chocolate chip cookies for dessert.
