Ready, set, start your grills...but don't forget to stop by to pick up your produce box with the grilling zucchini first! Most of you have zucchini showing up in your boxes this week, so we decided to go with that theme. Check out a great recipe/primer on grilling zucchini here. You can just wing it if that's more your style too, the key takeaways are don't over-grill the zukes, and grill them last so that you're eating them pretty quickly after they've cooked.
We're at that point in the season where we need to start thinking ahead to some pretty big harvesting tasks and trying to figure out some time in our already very busy weeks to fit them in. We've already accomplished the garlic harvest (Yipee!), but next comes the potato and onion harvest, and then the winter squash. Each of these is a pretty big job in itself so we have to be smart about our scheduling and not try to do two of them in one week!
We're super excited to see the bouquets that Megan from Dragon's Breath Farm has come up with for those of you that added one onto your box this week. We just started cutting gladiolus and dahlias from our farm today, so next week's bouquets might incorporate some Hoot Owl flowers too.
