Pick up options this week are both on Thursday, in Libby and at the farm. We're only doing box pick up and not a pop-up produce stand, so the pick up window in Libby is a shorter timeframe, 4:30-5:30.
1) Pick up at the Antler's Parking lot, Thursday, 4:30-5:30
2) Pick up at the Farm THURSDAY, 2-4
Chores on the farm are wrapping up for the season, and it's starting to look very cleaned up around here. There's been a ton of demo, compost spreading and tarping done this week. Next week we only have a couple of days with the crew, and we intend to dig and divide our dahlias, harvest, wash and pack for the week, as well as dive into a small infrastructure project that we've been putting off. Wish us luck!
Cheers, Rudy & Bonnie
Pic above: In addition to being able to harvest from the field longer, this mild Fall we've had has also allowed our cover crops to get better established (we're very glad since some were a little late to be seeded!). We really try to improve each year with our cover cropping, but it is a really challenging thing to do because it requires that we put some thought and effort into it in late-August/early-September and that's exactly when we as farmers have the least amount of spare brainwaves or time! BUT, we've definitely learned that the effort is worth it, and we are proud to look out now and still see a lot of green (even though we're not harvesting it) and know that it's benefiting future crops that we will get to harvest!
