Hello! It's that time of the week - time to switch and swap your CSA boxes to your hearts content. It's also time to add on any extras to pick up with your box next week (Thursday @ market, or Friday 2-5 @ farm) - the extras available this week are eggs from the Miller Farm, bread and bagels from the Gracious Table and honey from McLaury Apiaries.
Did you notice? This 'time to customize' email is late, you have and will almost always be receiving this email on Friday afternoons/evenings. We've been in the midst of a family medical emergency since after market and have only just settled down enough to get it out. We're not out of the woods yet, but we are feeling very fortunate to have Bonnie's Dad, Mike, still around. We are also extremely thankful for all of fire (CSA member, Brian!!) and ambulance volunteers, medical professionals and staff, and some amazing neighbors (Farm Standers Ruth & Barry!) that were involved in the emergency. Needless to say, this has resulted in a late email, a short Farm Happening, and some frazzled farmers. The produce continues to grow and we will continue to harvest. With the week ahead being so hot, we are going to do as many Farm Stand boxes as we can because markets in such heat can be very unreliable, so we'd like to have a lot of our produce already spoken for and kept cool in Vanna White.
Remember to 'love the ones your with' and 'always trust your gut'. And since we can't miss an opportunity for a produce pun...especially trust your gut when it's telling you to feed it more farm fresh vegetables!
