It's usually not a problem having the 'low spot' at the farmers market, the customers tend to roll downhill lol. But it sure became apparent yesterday that we were definitely holders of that particular spot topographically when so much of the rain started to build a lake right in our pick up tent! Those of us with rubber boots were particularly glad for our choice of footwear. Rudy improved our situation quite a bit by pushing water with a broom and creating a little stream that flowed over a high spot and towards the drain, lowering the lake level considerably. Though it was cold and rainy, it was still a good day and we appreciated everyone who came out with umbrellas and galoshes!
The crops in the field certainly benefitted from that nice rain, and it looks like it's smooth sailing ahead for the next week with sunny skies and no frost in the forecast. So we're looking at another week with lots of produce available for Farm Stand boxes. Be sure to get in a build a box by noon on Monday for pick up next week. From other producers this week, we have bread and bagels available from the Gracious Table and super sweet honey from McLaury Apiaries.
