Hi All - Our CSA Member Appreciation event last week as a success! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out to visit and tour the farm. Now that we know how it's done, we won't be so hesitant to do these events in the future. The farm wasn't perfect, we weren't totally ready, and we didn't have as much available as we'd like...but nobody cared! Everyone had fun and that's what matters - whether you made it out to the farm or not, we sincerely appreciate your support this season (and many seasons for lots of you!). This email is a bit late today as we've been prepping for the Kootenai Harvest Festival tomorrow. It's at Riverfront Park from 12-6pm, and there are lots of reasons to check it out. Live music, dancing, over 70 vendors, awesome raffle prizes, a delicious Harvest Meal, beer & wine, lots of kids activities, amazing fall decor, and a photo booth to boot! We hope to see some of you there!
It's week #18 and that means it's the LAST official pick up week of the season. Don't worry, it's not as drastic as it sounds! We hope to have produce available for several more weeks, so we'll continue delivering to stores and restaurants. We'll continue with the Farmers Market until the last one on September 28th, and after that, we'll have a pop up stand if we're able. And finally, we'll continue to do Farm Stand boxes as long as our fields and Mother Nature allows. It sure came fast, but be sure to customize your share to your heart's content this week (or to purchase a one-time Farm Stand box), or don't! Some people love the surprise of finding out what they get when they pick up. This week, we have lots of great items from other local producers, including:
- Bread and Bagels from The Gracious Table
- Note: We will not have eggs available from the Miller Farm for thisweeks. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but the Millers are out of town on an important trip and won't be able to coordinate eggs for us. They will be back, and any Farm Stand boxes we do after the regular CSA season should be able to have Farm Fresh eggs back on the menu!
- Honey from McLaury Apiaries
- Fresh-pressed apple cider and apple butter, from Farm to Market Store, made right here in Libby!
- Locally Raised Breakfast sausage (delicious!!), Hot Italian sausage (also very tasty!), ground pork sausage and pork chops from Double N Farms
Cheers, Rudy & Bonnie
