CSA Week #16 - Pick Up

Posted on August 30th, 2024 by Bonnie and Rudy Geber

It's that time - Be sure to stop out to your pick up location this week to grab your farm fresh produce!

If you can make it out to the farm on Friday, September 6th, 2:00-5:00, we're having a CSA Member (or regular Farm Stander) Appreciation Day. It's a great time to come out to the farm and see where your produce has been coming from, ask any questions you may have about our farming style, and grab a complimentary bouquet! The best way we can think of this time of year to show you our appreciation for your commitment to eating local from our farm is the gift of flowers and time. Often times, the market pick ups are a busy affair and there's not much time for questions or chatting. Stopping out to the farm is a more relaxed environment where you'll be able to chat with your farmers as well as other CSA members -- maybe even discuss some tips or favorite recipes. Like we always say, we're not really flower farmers, but we do love to grow a few varieties that are beautiful on their own and don't require a lot of know-how on our part. Luckily, our dahlias and sunflowers are blooming like crazy right now, so we're able to have a lot of small bouquets on hand - please grab one on Friday as our way to say THANK YOU!

Looking forward to seeing you at pick up,

Cheers, Bonnie & Rudy

Pic above: Cleaning onions on a sunny Wednesday afternoon - the onion crop this season has been great, so we should have onions for many weeks. Both nice keeper varieties - Patterson (yellow) and Red Wing (red). We really just used the last of LAST YEAR's onions a week ago, so they truly do keep a very long time under good conditions (cool, dark, dry).
