Well, that's a wrap...in terms of markets. The final Farmers Market at Libby was this past Thursday and it was a great one. We really appreciate all of the folks who were able to come out and support their local producers. BUT, it's not a wrap yet in terms of Farm Stand boxes. This will be our first pop-up farm stand (veggie boxes) without a market to pick up at. So instead, we'll just bring any boxes into the same place for a more condensed timeframe. The new (same) pick up location will be called 'Pop Up Fireman's Park', but instead pick up will be 3:30 - 5 on Thursday. On Farm pick up is still available on Friday afternoon, but we're going to cut it off at 4...why? So we can quite work sooner of course, it get's dark early these days, lol!
There's still a lot of great produce available this week (including more winter squash!) as well as some items from other local producers. We've got farm fresh eggs from the Miller Farm and honey from McLaury Apiaries. There are also several crops available in bulk quantities...10# bags or red or mixed (red/yellow) onions, 10# flats of green tomatoes or tomatillos, as well as our mature rosemary plants in 6" pots - these are meant to be indoors for the winter to provide fresh herbs!! Consider canning or freezing tomatillos (or tomatillo puree) for future use in salsa verde, chili verde, soups and chicken or pork dishes!
Enjoy the sunshine and your weekend!
Cheers, Rudy & Bonnie
