Pic above is Bonnie manning our first on farm pop-up stand of the season. Will we have more? It's hard to say, we just let the produce dictate whether we have enough quantity and variety beyond our normal channels to support a pop-up farm stand. But if we do have more, they will likely be on Friday and they likely won't be planned very far in advance, lol!
Planting is about done for the day, and the notable achievement was planting out the last transplants of the season that are NOT salad (lots of that yet to come). Today, we put out the last successions of iceberg lettuce, scallions, cilantro and kohlrabi. That definitely makes us think about Fall, but the forecasted weather for next week is reminding us that Fall is still far off. We'll be sweating up a storm if the above 100-degree days actually pan out, but we'll still come away with lots of produce for your boxes.
Speaking of your boxes...be sure to get into your Harvie profile to customize your box for next week (or to purchase a one-time Farm Stand box), or don't! Some people love the surprise of finding out what they get when they pick up. This week, we have lots of great items from other local producers, including:
- Bread and Bagels from The Gracious Table
- Farm Fresh Eggs from the Miller Farm
- Honey from McLaury Apiaries
- Fresh Pressed Apple Cider AND Apple Butter, from Farm to Market Store, both of these products are made right here in Libby!
- Locally Raised breakfast sausage, hot Italian sausage, ground pork and pork chops from Double N Farms
- Beautiful gladiolus and dahlia bouquets from yours truly!
Cheers, Rudy & Bonnie
