While the Farmers Market is over for the season, there's still lots of great produce to be had! We're digging more carrots today, and we'll have lots of our large bags of storage roots available (carrots, beets, parsnips). These store well into the winter if they're kept in a cool place or even in the fridge. While summer crops are becoming more sparse, we definitely still have some great fall crops including a gorgeous batch of green cabbages. Consider sauteed cabbage, Crunchy Asian Cabbage Salad, or a personal favorite while there's still good weather to grill: Grilled Cabbage Steaks. We've also got great add-on items from other local producers, including: - Bread and Bagels from The Gracious Table - Farm Fresh eggs from the Miller Farm - Fresh-pressed apple cider and apple butter, from Farm to Market Store, made right here in Libby! - Locally Raised Hot Italian sausage (very tasty!), ground pork sausage and pork chops from Double N Farms We have three pick up options for this week, so take your pick... - Fireman's Park pick up, Thursday 4-5:30. This is the same location as the Farmers Market at Libby, the parking lot by Fireman's Park. We'll only be there for box pick up and won't be setting up a produce stand, so watch for a different vehicle. We may just have our smaller trailer instead of Vanna White. - On Farm pick up, Friday 1-4, we'll be a split crew on Friday as there will be people on farm as well as away at a market in Troy. - Troy Fall Bounty Market, Friday, 2:30 - 5:30. We'll be set up at Bounty Fest over in Troy, so feel free to choose that as your pick up location if you'd like. Remember to grab a box by Monday at noon, we choose that cutoff time so that we can plan out our harvest schedule for the week ahead. Cheers, Rudy & Bonnie |
