Time spent harvesting on the farm continues to lessen, so we're spending more and more time on those end of season projects. The pic above shows us moving 'Dublin' (our somewhat moveable tunnel), which is an annual event as we move it around this time every year. We say, 'somewhat moveable', because we actually take it apart and put it back up in a different spot, but it was designed to do that pretty quickly so it doesn't take too long. We move it in the Fall for two reasons. First, it allows us to get some late season greens going out in the field that wouldn't otherwise have time to mature (but since we move the tunnel over them, they do). And second, it allows us to move around some of our heat loving summer crops to new ground on the farm each year. It's hard to rotate crops when they're grown under cover since space is limited, so having at least 8 'new' beds every year helps out.

Pop-Up Week #22 - Pick Up
I suppose you're wondering, 'Why, Dublin tho??' A fair question! When we originally put up the tunnel, it was the only structure in our newly planted 'East field'. The only crops we grew over there that year were potatoes and onions, so we naturally called that area Ireland. When we installed a tunnel, the name just seemed obvious. Even though we've moved it a couple of times now, the name has stuck. We're working on Dublin this week and will hopefully have it skinned and fully set up.
We'll see you at your pick up location this week. Remember that the times and locations are below:
- Thursday 3-5:30 at our pop-up produce stand at the Antler's 4Bs parking lot
- Friday 1-4 at the Farm
