CSA Week #18 - Customize

Posted on September 18th, 2024 by Bonnie and Rudy Geber

Hi All - Our CSA Member Appreciation event last week as a success! Thank you to everyone who was able to make it out to visit and tour the farm.  Whether you made it out to the farm or not, we sincerely appreciate your support this season (and many seasons for lots of you!). This email is a bit late today as we've been prepping for the Kootenai Harvest Festival tomorrow. It's at Riverfront Park from 12-6pm, and there are lots of reasons to check it out. Live music, dancing, over 60 vendors, awesome raffle prizes, a delicious Harvest Meal, beer & wine, lots of kids activities, and amazing fall decor! We hope to see some of you there!

It's week #18 and that means it's the LAST official pick up week of the season. Don't worry, it's not as drastic as it sounds! We hope to have produce available for several more weeks, so we'll continue delivering to stores and restaurants. We'll continue with the Farmers Market until the last one on September 26th, and after that, we're excited for another on farm event, October 3rd. It's the first Thursday after the market season has ended, so we're hoping to get more folks out to the farm for their weekly vegetables and to stock up on fall favorites. We like to do pop-up farm stands in October at the Antler's 4Bs parking lot, and we'll let you know when those are happening. And finally, we'll continue to do Farm Stand boxes as long as our fields and Mother Nature allows. It sure came fast, but be sure to customize your share to your heart's content this week, or don't! Some people love the surprise of finding out what they get when they pick up. This week, we have lots of great items from other local producers, including:

- Artisan sourdough bread by Rachel at Pine Cabin Co.

- Farm Fresh eggs from the Miller Farm

- Locally Raised Breakfast sausage (delicious!!), Hot Italian sausage (also very tasty!), ground pork sausage from Double N Farms

- Fresh pressed apple cider and apple butter from Farm to Market Store

- Honey from McLaury Apiaries

- Beautiful dahlia bouquets from our own farm.

THANK YOU so much for being CSA members this season! We will make sure to contact all of you with farm updates and details for our CSA next season, you will have first dibs if you'd like to be a member again (and we hope you do!). Have a great week!

Cheers, Rudy & Bonnie

PS. Just an assurance, for those of you on the lookout for the big bags of storage carrots and beets, they are late this season so aren't making in into the CSA season, but they are looking great and will be coming soon!
