Farm Happenings for July 31, 2018

Posted on July 27th, 2018 by Kimberly Decker

Fall plantings are going in the ground!  We're transplanting Kohlrabi, broccoli, Chard, Kale, Cauliflower, Cabbage, and seeding more lettuce, arugula, radishes, Salad Turnips, etc.  It's a rewarding time of year, when we can mow down some older ratty plantings, and start new with freshly tilled soil, and new clean rows of seedlings.  It looks like we're going to have some excellent weather for getting those transplants established, with cooler temperatures and even a little rain!!!  This week marks the half-way point on the Summer CSA season, twelve weeks down, twelve to go.  One big change from the past; Harvie will automatically renew your Summer CSA membership, effective at the end of October, unless you opt-out of auto-renew in your account!  We'll remind you several more times before it happens, and we'll try to remind you in person as well.

Thanks,

Curtis

Note: Please return your egg carton containers and the green pint/quart containers - we can reuse them!

Note: Curtis will be out of town this Tuesday, so those who want to buy extra things on the farm need to have cash or check.  Thanks!
