Izzy in front of Blue Bluff on the Buffalo River
Sarah, myself, and the kids enjoyed a fabulous week long canoe trip on the Buffalo River last week (Cammie was able to join us for the weekend as well), and we came back refreshed and ready to jump into farmwork whole heartedly. As we've developed the farm, over the last 11 years, we've learned the importance of work/fun balance. We love our farm, and we love the work we get to do, particularly as a farmily team, but I have learned that until we leave the farm, it's hard to get away from the to-do list. Living on the farm, there are always a thousand things that need to get done, staring us in the face, from organizing the shop to weeding the asparagus. When we take time away, in a different setting, with family and friends, we are refreshed, rejuvenated, and rewarded with deeper connections to one another. On the other hand, as great as it is to travel and recreate, we also love coming home, and we came home to a farm in great order due to our many helping hands, led by Kimby and Cammie. Thanks for being a member of our farm and helping support this farmily in our efforts to grow great food, build great community, and live good lives.
Sincerely,
Farmer Curtis
