Hello Folks!
What a wonderful couple of days we've had here on the farm. The rain has been a huge gift here, with right about a half an inch the past two days. Everything is a little greener and has perked up quite a bit. But one of the best parts of the rain is how easily we can pull up weeds! So we have spent the past few mornings getting the beds cleared of all the grass that has been popping up lately.
We have also been planting up a storm with cucumbers, tomatoes, eggplant, basil, beans, watermelon, and more getting put out in a whole bunch of new bed space I have been opening up. We are really REALLY excited, but so are the deer. We lost about 800 cucumber plants in one night (absolutely heartbreaking), so our past few evenings have been standing guard with Odin out in the fields. Well, really it's me sleeping and Odin doing most of the guarding, but it's a team effort out here. The waking hours have included a lot of head-scratching on solutions to deter them. I have used just about everything in the book, so hopefully we will be the only ones eating organic this week...
Thank you all as always for your continued support!
Best,
Jesse
