Bonnie got a nice thank you at the market yesterday from some of the Headstart classes that came out to the farm for a visit this Spring. We had four separate field trips, and boy do we admire teachers for being able to occupy those inquisitive bundles of energy all day! We had some great questions and observations, and the kids attention often switched to bugs once they realized we weren't an 'animal type' of farm.
It's time to customize your box for next week, so be sure to get into your profile by Monday at noon to swap or add to your box. We have some great items from other local producers this week, including:
- Bread and Bagels from The Gracious Table
- Farm Fresh Eggs from the Miller Farm
- Fresh Pressed Apple Cider from Farm to Market Store
- Locally Raised Bacon from Double N Farms
A few people have asked about how Harvie works, and the fact that you don't see actual prices for items. This is a comment that we've gotten a few times and have passed along the suggestion to display prices to the Harvie Team. Some people prefer to not have prices shown while others would like it, but one thing is sure, we personally don't have the capability to change the workings of Harvie ourselves. It's farm management system used by hundreds of farms, so while they are very good about troubleshooting and general help, any major changes to the system itself will not be instant. We'd recommend adding an item to your box and then seeing what the additional charge will be to get an estimate of the actual dollar value, you can always remove it later. As always, just get in touch if you have any questions about how the system works, about any of our growing practices or the farm. Harvie has a lot of information out there for curious CSA members, check out Harvie University which is specifically for CSA members of farms using Harvie.
