CSA Week #6 - Customize

Posted on June 26th, 2024 by Bonnie and Rudy Geber

It's been a long week! We're trying to get through our to do list today, but it's looking like several items will get bumped to next week. Don't worry, that's pretty much how it always goes, in fact, we're not sure that we've EVER actually completed a to do list on the farm. It's more of a never-ending-always-growing list through the season that comes to an abrupt end mid-November. Next week will start our regular picking of summer squash and cherry tomatoes - it'll be a Monday-Wednesday-Friday routine from now until we start getting hard frosts again. We try to schedule our harvests of crops like those so that no one has to come in on the weekends!

Enjoy your weekend and remember...

It's time to get into your profile and customize (if you wish) your box for next week. In addition to the vegetables in our harvest estimate this week, we've got lots of great add-ons from other local producers.

Speaking of add-ons, we have some excellent local producers with great products to add or swap into your boxes. This week, we have:

- Farm Fresh eggs from the Miller Farm

- Pork from Double N Farms - ground pork, hot Italian sausage, bacon and pork chops!

- Fresh pressed apple cider and apple butter from Farm to Market Store

- Honey from McLaury Apiaries

- We're working on another sampling of bread to add on to your produce shares if desired, so for now, no bread option for an add on. Be sure grab that garlic parmesan bread from Dorio's at the market on Thursdays if you have become addicted!

Have a great weekend, and as always, let us know if you have any questions about our farm or the nuts and bolts of using Harvie.

Cheers, Bonnie & Rudy

Pic above: The flower block getting ready to look pretty. We've got two beds of gladiolus in the foreground, three of dahlias (still small, but they just got 'pinched' to encourage longer stems), and a row of taller sunflowers in the back. We're excited to have a visual treat right as you enter the farm soon.
