Hi Friends! The sun has finally come out (and gotten hot!)! We are so excited to see and feel it's warm rays! The endless rains of May have made certain tasks on the farm tricky to carry out - but we are looking forward to the soil drying out and getting some new crops in the ground. One of the reasons we have so much space covered in plastic is to be able to control the amount of water our crops planted under them receive - this has been super handy this spring! We have been able to seed and harvest in the tunnels where we have not been able to in the fields. Here's a picture of our newest plastic house, the Fig House.
Of course, it's a bit early for figs, right now this is where much of your kale is coming from, but the figs are growing too, along with beets and bell peppers.
On a housekeeping note - we will take back your egg cartons and the blue/green pulp boxes - you can bring them back to your pickup location or leave them in your totes.
We are happy to grow food for you - please give us feedback as we move through the season!
Thanks!
