We have a special treat available this week: Paw-Paws from Rockspan Farm. These rare fruit, which are North American natives, have a very unique taste and texture, sometimes described as a cross between a mango and a banana. They are truly special, because they are very ephemeral, only available for a couple of weeks here in September, and because they are pretty quick to spoil. So if you get them, eat them soon!
We are down to two weeks of actual summer left, and we are certainly feeling the difference in daylight here on the farm; shorter cooler days make for happier farmers, but slower growing plants. Not to worry, the fall crops still look great, just a general observation that the changing seasons bring a difference on so many levels.
I hope you get to enjoy the fantastic fall weather this weekend, and, as always, thank you for choosing us to be your farmers.
