Farm Happenings for September 10, 2024

Posted on September 6th, 2024 by Kimberly Decker

Good evening, I've got a few important notes for the week ahead:

First, we need your totes, egg cartons, and pulp containers (the ones we send cherry tomatoes home in).  If you've got a few of these stashed at your house, please leave them our for the delivery drivers this week.

Second, Harvie is going away at the end of the year!  They are shutting down, and so we will have to figure out a different solution to our share and membership organization system...  As part of this process, we will be sending out a survey in the next week, to help understand what is important to you about the CSA, so we can properly prioritize those factors as we shop for a new membership management provider.

Finally, enjoy those tomatoes while we've got them; I have a feeling we're looking at an early frost, and perhaps an extra cool fall.  I know the tomato harvest has been a little light this year, or at least lighter than we usually have, but I do have access to some reasonably priced naturally grown bulk tomatoes to order, so if that's something you would be interested in, please reach out, and I'll see what I can do about sourcing those in the next couple of weeks.

We're enjoying the cooler weather, and definitely looking forward to an abundant fall harvest.  I hope you are enjoying this fine autumn weather as well.

Thanks for choosing us to be your farmers,

Curtis
