Farm Happenings for September 24, 2024

Posted on September 20th, 2024 by Kimberly Decker

Good evening, and welcome to the last couple of days of summer!!!  It certainly feels like summer here on the farm; high temps, intense sunshine, and dry soil.  However, I think this may be the last day of that, I suspect that we're going to have some cool rainy weather this coming week.    Anyway, it's a great way to wrap up summer, and we've made the most of it; we've seeded spinach, beets, lettuce, kale, and so many more fall produce super-stars, and have beautiful broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, and kale in the pipeline for the next few weeks, as our temps cool.

The garden is always a place of wonder, and this time of year, there are so many spiders, flowers, and misty mornings.

I love this time of year, and almost always make it out into the fields to watch the sun rise with a cup of tea, and a scripture reading.  I see all sorts of interesting things that time of day, but I'm mostly just in love with the feeling of all the promise and possiblity of the day, as the light brightens and the sun starts to light up the clouds.

Our farm has an open gate policy, anytime you want to come our way to watch the sun rise, or set, or simply shine, feel free.

Thanks for choosing us to be your farmers,

Curtis and the crew.
